Ingredients
-
120 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
60 g Sugar, white
-
1 pinch Salt, table
-
60 g Butter, unsalted
-
300 g Apple, fresh
-
40 g Butter, unsalted
-
60 g Sugar, brown
-
150 g Blackberry, fresh
-
0.25 teaspoons Spices, cinnamon, ground
Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius, line a low baking dish with parchment paper. In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, and sugar. Add the diced butter to the mixture and use your fingers to rub it into the dry ingredients until it resembles coarse crumbs. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes, until the butter crumbs are lightly browned. Be careful not to let the crumbs on the sides burn during baking.
-
Meanwhile, prepare the fruit. Wash the blackberries if necessary. Wash the apples, peel them, and cut them into quarters. Remove the cores and seeds, then cut the quarters into 2 cm pieces. Place a pan with butter and sugar on the stove. Cook over moderate heat for about 4 minutes until a lightly browned caramel forms. Then add the apples and cook for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Finally, add the blackberries and cinnamon, and cook for another 3 minutes. Cover the pan, remove from heat, and let the fruit steam for 2 to 3 minutes.
-
Transfer the fruit from the pan to a heatproof baking dish, sprinkle the baked butter crumbs on top, and bake in the oven for another 5 to 10 minutes.
-
The dessert can be served warm or well chilled before serving. Offer it with ice cream, custard, Greek yogurt, or whipped cream.
