Dandelion Syrup
Dandelion syrup is used in folk medicine to aid digestion, improve blood quality, and enhance overall well-being. It can also be used to relieve coughs or sore throats - in this case, it is consumed by the spoonful. When diluted with plain or mineral water, it transforms into an excellent refreshing drink.

Ingredients
-
200 g Elderberry, flower, fresh
-
1 l Water
-
750 g Sugar, white
-
2 piece Lemon, fresh, without shell
Steps
-
First, carefully clean the dandelion flowers and remove any insects. Then rinse them under running water and drain well. Cut one lemon in half and squeeze it, wash the other lemon thoroughly and dry it. Slice it into rounds, including the peel.
-
Place the dandelion flowers in a pot and pour in one liter of cold water. Place the pot on the stove and slowly bring the contents to a boil. Once it boils, reduce the heat slightly and simmer gently for another 10 minutes.
-
Strain the hot liquid through a fine sieve or cheesecloth. Pour the strained liquid back into the pot. Add sugar and lemon juice, then bring to a boil again. Stir constantly while cooking to ensure the sugar dissolves completely. Continue cooking until the syrup thickens slightly.
-
Pour the hot syrup into clean jars (or bottles). Add a few lemon rounds to each jar, then tightly seal the jars. Turn them upside down and let the syrup cool.

Advice
The jars or bottles in which we will store the syrup must be carefully cleaned and washed. The prepared syrup should be stored in a cool place, and once opened, it should be kept in the refrigerator. It is best to use organic lemons, whose peel is not treated with pesticides. If organic lemons are not available, soak the lemon in hot water for a few minutes and wipe it well to remove the wax, which contains toxins.
