Ingredients

250 ml Milk, whole milk

100 g Sugar, brown

60 g Butter, unsalted

150 g Date, fresh or dried

125 g Flour, Whole wheat

125 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose

1.5 teaspoons Baking powder

1 pinch Salt, table

1 piece Egg, fresh

70 g Walnuts

Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius. Grease a baking pan well with butter. Coarsely chop the dates and walnuts. In a small pot, heat the milk, butter, and sugar over moderate heat. Heat until the butter is completely melted. Remove the pot from the heat and mix in the chopped dates. Let the mixture cool.

In a larger bowl, sift both types of flour and baking powder. Add a pinch of salt and mix all the ingredients well. Make a well in the center and pour in the cooled mixture. Add the egg and chopped walnuts, then mix everything well with a hand whisk.

Pour the batter into the greased pan and bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes, until the bread turns golden brown.

Let the baked bread cool in the pan. Once cooled, remove the bread from the pan, place it on a serving plate, slice it into desired thickness, and serve.
