Delicious Apple Pie from a Baking Dish
A dessert that is simultaneously crispy, juicy, and so good that you definitely wont stop at just one piece. Its excellent with a cup of warm drink, and it also pairs well with a glass of good wine, making it suitable as a dessert for more festive occasions.

Ingredients
Dough

400 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose

100 g Sugar, white

1 pinch Salt, table

0.5 bags Baking powder

250 g Butter, unsalted

4 pieces Egg, egg yolk, fresh

1 spoon Juice, lemon

1 kg Apples, rose

30 g Walnuts

2 spoons Alcohol, Rum

In a bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, salt, and powdered sugar. Mix well and add the cold butter cut into cubes, which you rub into the dry ingredients with your fingertips. Lift the mixture to make it airy and crumbly. Add the egg yolks and quickly knead everything into a dough, which you divide into two parts. Store 1/3 of the dough in the freezer, and 2/3 in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, prepare the other ingredients. Pick through the raisins and soak them in rum or orange juice. Wash, peel, and grate the apples. Coarsely chop the walnuts. Lightly grease the baking dish with butter and line it with baking paper, then preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

Take the dough that was stored in the refrigerator and roll it out on a work surface to the size of the baking dish. Using a rolling pin, transfer it to the baking dish and gently press it against the bottom with your fingers. Prick it in several places with a fork, then layer it with the grated apples, sprinkle the raisins, chopped walnuts, and cinnamon on top.

Beat the egg whites with sugar and lemon juice into stiff peaks, into which you gently and slowly fold the sifted cornstarch. Spread the egg white mixture evenly over the apple filling. Coarsely grate the dough that was stored in the freezer on top. Bake the pastry in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes.
