Ingredients
-
180 g Yogurt, plain, from whole milk
-
1 spoon Alcohol, Rum
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
1 bag Sugar, white
-
3 spoons Sugar, white
-
pieces Lemon zest, fresh
-
pieces Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
0.5 bags Baking powder
-
1 pinch Salt, table
-
3 pieces Apple, fresh
-
pieces Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
pieces Powdered sugar
Steps
-
In a bowl, whisk together yogurt, egg, rum, lemon zest, and sugar until smooth. In another bowl, sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix the sifted ingredients well and then combine them with the wet ingredients. Peel the apples and grate them coarsely. Mix them into the batter, which should be quite thick (add a little more flour if needed).
-
Heat oil in a larger pot to 180 ÂșC (if you don't have a thermometer, you can test the oil by dipping the handle of a wooden spoon into it. The oil is hot enough when small bubbles form around the handle).
-
Take a soup spoon and dip it into the hot oil for a few seconds. Then scoop the batter with the spoon and place it into the oil (the batter will slide off the oiled spoon easily). Don't fry too many doughnuts at once; fry them at medium heat. When they turn golden brown on one side, flip them and fry the other side. Repeat the process until all the batter is used.
-
Remove the fried doughnuts with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with kitchen towels. Let the excess oil drain off.
-
Serve the warm doughnuts on a large plate or platter, dust with powdered sugar, and serve.

Advice
Fry in a large amount of fat. The food should float in it. Its best to use organic lemons, whose peel is not treated with pesticides. If you dont have them, immerse the fruit in boiling water for a few minutes and wipe it well to remove the wax, which contains toxins.
