Ingredients

-
0.25 l Milk, whole milk
-
3 pinch Salt, table
-
3 dag Butter, unsalted
-
1 piece Sugar, white
-
6 dag Semolina
-
8 dag Breadcrumbs, dried
-
3 dag Sugar, white
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
1 teaspoon Lemon zest, fresh
Sauce
-
0.25 l Alcohol, Wine, White
-
3 pieces Spices, cloves, ground
-
1 piece Spices, cinnamon, ground
-
3 spoons Sugar, white
-
1 spoon Baking powder
-
1 piece Egg, egg yolk, fresh
-
1 dl Sweet cream
Steps
-
Place a pot on the stove, add milk, salt, and butter, and wait for the liquid to boil. Lower the temperature slightly and mix in the semolina, sugar, vanilla sugar, lemon zest, and about 40 grams of poppy seeds. Mix everything well and cook until you get a thick mixture. Remove the pot from the heat and let the prepared mixture cool slightly.
-
Beat an egg and mix it into the cooled mixture, then shape the mixture into small dumplings. Place a pot with a liter of salted water on the stove and wait for it to boil. Add the prepared dumplings to the boiling water and cook for about 10 minutes.
-
Meanwhile, place another pot on the stove, pour in white wine, and add cloves, a cinnamon stick, and sugar. Wait for the liquid to boil, then let it simmer gently for 2 more minutes.
-
In a bowl, mix cornstarch, egg yolk, and cream well. Remove the spices from the wine sauce and cook the starch mixture into it. Stir well to ensure there are no lumps in the sauce and let it cook a bit more. Be careful not to let the sauce thicken too much.
-
Drain the dumplings and serve them on dessert plates. Pour the prepared sauce over them, sprinkle with the remaining ground poppy seeds, and serve to your guests.

Advice
It is best to use organic lemons, whose peel is not treated with pesticides. If organic lemons are not available, immerse the lemon in boiling water for a few minutes and wipe it well to remove the wax, which contains toxins.
