Ingredients
-
280 g Butter, unsalted
-
150 g Sugar, white
-
2 piece Egg, egg yolk, fresh
-
400 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
1 teaspoon Spices, cinnamon, ground
-
pieces Milk, whole milk
-
pieces Juice, lemon
-
250 g Powdered sugar
-
2 spoons Water
-
pieces Vanilla, extract, imitation
Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Line a low baking tray for cookies with baking paper.
-
In a bowl with an electric mixer, mix the softened butter and sugar. When the mixture becomes light and creamy, mix in the egg yolks. Then sift the flour and cinnamon over the mixture. Mix just enough to combine the flour with the other ingredients, then while mixing, add enough milk to slightly soften the dough.
-
Shape the dough into a ball with your hands, knead it well on a floured work surface, and roll it out to a thickness of 0.5 cm. Cut out cookies from the rolled dough using a cookie cutter and place them on the prepared baking tray.
-
Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until they are lightly browned at the edges. Remove the baking tray from the oven and transfer the cookies to a wire rack. Let the cookies cool completely.
-
Pour the lemon juice through a strainer into a small bowl. Then sift the powdered sugar into the bowl. Mix well and add enough cold water to make a smooth but thick sugar mixture. Color the mixture with yellow food coloring.
-
Spread the cooled cookies with the sugar glaze and decorate as desired. Wait until the sugar glaze is completely set, then arrange the cookies on a serving plate or platter and serve.

Advice
Take the butter out of the refrigerator at least one hour before preparation, cut it into pieces, and let it stand at room temperature to soften. The addition of cinnamon can also be omitted. If the dough is too soft to roll and cut out cookies, store it in the refrigerator for a while (30 to 50 minutes).
