Pour cold water into a larger pot and carefully place the eggs in it. There should be enough water to completely cover the eggs. Wait for the water to boil, then remove the pot from the heat and let the eggs sit in the water for another 8 minutes. Meanwhile, wash the cherry tomatoes and cut them in half.

Cool the boiled eggs under cold running water, peel them, and cut them in half. Arrange them on a plate and add a little mayonnaise to each half. Place the tomatoes on the plate as well. Season the dish with coarse salt and pepper, then serve.
