Ingredients
Decoration
- 100 g Raisins
Dough
-
1 kg Flour, Wheat, bread flour
-
5 dl Milk, whole milk
-
40 g Sugar, white
-
125 g Butter, unsalted
-
5 g Salt, table
Premaz
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
2 spoons Sugar, white
-
2 spoons Milk, whole milk
Yeast
-
20 g Yeast, dry
-
3 spoons Milk, whole milk
-
1 teaspoon Sugar, white
-
1 teaspoon Flour, Wheat, bread flour
Steps
-
Prepare the yeast mixture with the listed ingredients: in a bowl, mix milk, crumbled yeast, sugar, and flour. Let it sit for at least 10 minutes to allow the yeast to rise slightly.
-
Sift the flour into a bowl. Add sugar, mix, and sprinkle salt around the edges. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture.
-
Place a pot with milk and butter on the stove. Heat and stir until the butter melts. Remove from heat and let it cool to lukewarm. Pour the lukewarm milk and butter mixture into the flour and knead the dough. Knead until the dough becomes smooth and no longer sticks to your hands or the bowl.
-
Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly oiled bowl. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise for 1 hour.
-
Turn the risen dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead it again. Divide it into 16 pieces. Beat the egg with 2 tablespoons of milk and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Sort the raisins, wash, and dry them.
-
Grease two shallow baking pans. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Shape the angels. From each piece of dough, form a ball, flatten it, and cut it in half. Cut one half again to create two wings. Shape the remaining half into a body, pinching one-third to form the head. Place the wings on the work surface so they meet at the corner, then place the angel's body in the center. Press to seal. Repeat with the remaining dough pieces. Place the angels on the baking pans. Use scissors to make cuts in the body to form arms. Decorate the wings with raisins, pressing them into the dough. Brush the angels with the egg mixture. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
-
Remove the baked angels from the oven and let them cool slightly. Arrange them on a serving plate and serve.
