Ingredients
-
3 dl Water, bottled
-
115 g Sugar, white
-
1 bag Yeast, dry
-
50 g Butter, unsalted
-
2 piece Egg, fresh
-
3 dl Milk, whole milk
-
875 g Flour, Wheat, bread flour
-
1 teaspoon Salt, table
-
pieces Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
220 g Powdered sugar
Steps
-
In a small bowl, mix water, yeast, and sugar. Cover the bowl and let it rest in a warm, draft-free place for 10 minutes. Place a pot with butter on the stove and heat it until the butter melts, then remove it from the heat.
-
In a large bowl, beat the eggs, add the milk, and mix well with a whisk. Add the yeast mixture, then add the flour and melted butter. Finally, add salt. Mix all the ingredients into a dough, turn it out onto a floured work surface, and knead for 15 minutes until it becomes soft and elastic and does not stick to your hands or the work surface.
-
Shape the dough into a ball, place it in an oiled bowl, and cover it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap. Let it rise for about 2 hours. During this time, the dough should double in volume.
-
Punch down the risen dough, turn it out onto a lightly floured work surface, and roll it out to a thickness of 6 mm. Cut the rolled-out dough into squares with sides of 2.5 cm.
-
Heat the oil in a deep pan. When the oil is hot enough, fry the squares in it until they turn golden brown.
-
Place the fried squares on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil, then transfer them to a serving plate and generously dust with powdered sugar. Serve.

Advice
The oil is hot enough when small bubbles form around the handle of a wooden spoon dipped into it. The donuts are fried in a large amount of oil. There should be enough oil so that the donuts float in it. For frying, use fats that do not contain water, such as coconut oil or good quality oil.
