Ingredients
-
1.5 cups Water
-
1 spoon Yeast, dry
-
2 spoons Sugar, white
-
2 spoons Oil, plant, sunflower
-
1.25 teaspoons Salt, table
-
2 cups Flour, Wheat, bread flour
-
2 cups Flour, Whole wheat
Steps
-
In a large bowl, mix water, yeast, and sugar. Stir the ingredients well until the yeast is completely dissolved. Cover the bowl with a clean cloth and let it stand for 10 minutes.
-
Mix both types of flour in a separate bowl. Add oil, salt, and 2 cups of flour to the yeast mixture. Mix well, then gradually add the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time. Knead until the dough no longer sticks to the sides of the bowl or your hands. Then, turn the dough onto a lightly floured work surface and knead until it becomes smooth and elastic, which takes about 8 minutes. Shape the kneaded dough into a ball.
-
Lightly grease a large bowl, place the dough ball in it, and cover the bowl with a damp cloth. Place the bowl in a warm spot for 1 hour to let the dough rise. During this time, it will double in size.
-
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Flatten the risen dough and transfer it to a lightly floured work surface. Divide the dough into 16 equal parts and shape them into balls. Place the dough balls on the baking sheet, leaving at least 5 cm of space between them. Cover them with a damp cloth and let them rise for 40 minutes, until they double in size.
-
Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 200 °C. Bake the risen rolls in the preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes. Cool them on a wire rack, then transfer to a basket and serve.
