Ingredients
-
3 spoons Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
3 pods Garlic, fresh
-
2 spoons Vinegar, red wine
-
400 g Carniolan sausage
-
3 spoons Butter, unsalted
-
1 spoon Mustard
-
1 piece Cabbage, fresh
-
pieces Salt, table
-
1 teaspoon Spices, paprika
-
pieces Parsley, fresh
Steps
-
Place a large pan on the stove and heat the oil. Add the onion and caramelize it over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
-
Add the garlic and sauté for another 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant, then pour in the vinegar. Use a spatula to scrape the bottom of the pan well to release all the caramelized bits that formed during frying. Push the caramelized onion and garlic to the side of the pan, and place the sausage slices in the center, quickly browning them on both sides.
-
Add the butter, mustard, and chopped cabbage, and mix the ingredients well. Season with paprika, salt, and ground pepper. Fry the ingredients for another 5 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage softens and turns slightly brown at the edges. If you prefer the cabbage to be softer, cover the pan and let the dish steam for a few more minutes.
-
Once the dish is ready, you can sprinkle chopped parsley over it if desired. Serve it directly in the pan it was cooked in.

If you dont have white wine vinegar, you can use apple cider vinegar, and the dish can also be seasoned with a pinch or two of ground chili.
