Fried Calamari with Pepper and Salt
Fried calamari with pepper and salt is an excellent snack that can be served with various dips at a party or picnic. It can also be a standalone dish, perfectly paired with a large bowl of salad. In winter, we recommend potato salad, and in summer, tomato salad.

Ingredients
-
500 g Fish, squid
-
2 teaspoons Salt, table
-
1.5 spoons Spices, pepper, black
-
75 g Koruzna moka, whole grain, yellow
-
pieces Oil, vegetable oil, canola
Steps
-
Rinse the calamari under running water and dry thoroughly with paper towels. Cut the bodies into 0.5 cm wide rings, leaving the tentacles whole.
-
Grind the peppercorns and salt in a grinder. Mix the ingredients well, but be careful not to crush them into a fine powder. Combine the ground spices with cornmeal in a large resealable bag. Add the sliced calamari, then tightly seal the bag. Shake the bag several times to ensure the calamari pieces are evenly coated with the pepper, salt, and cornmeal.
-
Heat oil in a large pot. Fry the seasoned calamari in batches in the hot oil. When they turn a beautiful golden brown, remove them from the oil with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels.
-
Serve the fried calamari on a plate or platter. Accompany with lemon wedges and various dips (salads).

Advice
Fry in a large amount of fat. The food should float in it. The fat is hot enough when small bubbles form around a wooden spoon handle dipped into it.
