Ingredients
Dough
-
1 l Milk, whole milk
-
0.5 teaspoons Salt, table
-
80 g Butter, unsalted
-
500 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
4 pieces Egg, fresh
-
pieces Marmalade, orange
Steps
-
In a pot, bring a mixture of milk, butter, and salt to a boil. Slightly reduce the temperature and pour the sifted flour into the boiling liquid. Stir well with a wooden spoon to get a uniform and smooth mixture without lumps. Continue cooking while stirring until you get a large ball of dough that easily separates from the sides of the pot and spoon.
-
Transfer the dough to a bowl, wait a few minutes for it to cool slightly, then gradually (one by one) mix in the eggs. It's important to mix the ingredients very well each time you add an egg, so they bind together and you get a soft and shiny dough.
-
Shape the dough into a log with your hands, then cut it into appropriately sized pieces. In each piece, "wrap" a spoonful of jam.
-
Cook the prepared dumplings in salted boiling water (cook them for about 8 minutes). When cooked, remove them from the pot with a slotted spoon, serve on plates, pour over toasted breadcrumbs, and serve immediately.
