Fried Onion Rings
Does it seem unusual? Not really. In America, they are served in fast-food restaurants, while here we mostly just have fries.

Ingredients
-
2 spoons Breadcrumbs, dried
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
50 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
0.5 teaspoons Baking powder
-
1 teaspoon Sugar, white
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
1 dl Milk, whole milk
-
2 pinch Salt, table
-
1 pinch Spices, pepper, black
-
pieces Oil, plant, sunflower
Steps
-
Peel the onion and cut it into slightly thicker rings. Separate the rings and place them in a bowl. Crack an egg into a small bowl, beat it well with a whisk, and season with salt.
-
Sift flour into a deep bowl, add breadcrumbs, the beaten egg, baking powder, sugar, milk, and pepper. Mix everything well with a whisk until you get a thick mixture (without lumps). Take a larger pot, pour in oil, and heat it well over moderate heat.
-
Dip the onion rings into the mixture (use a fork to help) and place them into the pot with oil. When the rings turn golden brown, transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels using a fork. Once the rings are drained, serve them with a hamburger or sour cream.

Advice
Fry in a large amount of fat. The food should float in it. For frying, use fats that do not contain water, such as coconut oil or good quality oil. The frying fat is hot enough when small bubbles form around a wooden spoon handle.
