Ingredients
-
16 pieces Pumpkin flowers
-
2 piece Egg, fresh
-
4 spoon Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
2 spoons Koruzni škrob
-
1 pinch Spices, pepper, black
-
1 pinch Spices, nutmeg, ground
-
0.25 dl Water
-
2 pinch Salt, table
-
pieces Oil, vegetable oil, canola
Steps
-
Thoroughly inspect and clean the flowers, quickly rinse them under running water, and dry them with paper towels. Carefully open the flowers, then use kitchen scissors to remove the stamens and pistil. Prepare a large bowl, crack the eggs into it. Add flour, starch, pepper, nutmeg, a pinch of salt, and a little mineral water. Mix all the ingredients well with a whisk to form a smooth batter.
-
Place a deep pan on the stove, heat it up, then add oil and heat it well. The oil temperature should be around 160 degrees Celsius. First, dip the flowers into the prepared batter, then fry them in the hot oil for about 4 minutes.
-
Remove the fried zucchini flowers from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to absorb excess oil. Arrange the fried flowers on a platter, lightly salt them, and serve to your guests.

Advice
Zucchini flowers pair very well with certain types of seafood. Serve them with monkfish, tuna, or sea bass. You can also add them to salmon dishes. Fry in a large amount of fat. For frying, use fats that do not contain water, such as coconut oil or good quality oil. The frying fat is hot enough when small bubbles form around a wooden spoon handle.
