Ingredients
-
4 spoon Oil, olive
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
600 g Swiss chard, fresh
-
pieces Garlic, fresh
-
6 pieces Egg, fresh
-
40 g Cheese, Parmesan, grated
-
pieces Salt, table
Steps
-
Clean the Swiss chard leaves, wash them, and dry them. Cut off the tougher white stems and slice them into approximately 5 mm thick pieces, then roughly chop the green parts of the leaves. Peel the onion and garlic, and finely chop them separately.
-
Place the oven rack in the upper third of the oven and preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
-
Place a larger pan (approximately 20 cm in diameter) on the stove and grease it with two tablespoons of olive oil. Add the onion and sauté it while stirring until it becomes translucent and slightly soft (about 6 minutes). Then add the sliced stems, season with salt and pepper, and sauté them together with the onion for about 4 minutes. Finally, add the chopped leaves and garlic, and sauté everything together for an additional 3 minutes while stirring.
-
Crack the eggs into a bowl and whisk them with a hand whisk or fork. Mix them with grated Parmesan cheese and lightly season with salt and pepper.
-
If necessary, pour out any excess liquid from the pan where the Swiss chard was sautéed, then add the sautéed Swiss chard to the bowl with the eggs. Mix everything well.
-
Place the pan back on the stove and grease it with the remaining oil. Pour the prepared egg mixture into the pan. Reduce the heat to medium and cook the frittata without stirring for about 5 minutes or until the eggs set around the edges of the pan.
-
Then transfer the pan to the preheated oven and bake for another 7-9 minutes, until the frittata is set on top and turns golden brown.
-
Cut the prepared frittata into pieces, serve on plates, and accompany with a bowl of salad.
