Fruit and Grain Bars
These bars are packed with nutrients and crispy, yet pleasantly chewy. They fill us with energy, and since we make them ourselves, they will be exactly how we like them - without artificial colors, preservatives, and white sugar. Plus, they are cheaper than store-bought ones.

190 g Flour, oat

90 g Coconut, flakes

30 g Seeds, sunflower, peeled, dried

60 g Dried plums

0.25 teaspoons Salt, table

1 teaspoon Spices, cinnamon, ground

60 g Butter, unsalted

160 ml Honey

1 teaspoon Vanilla, extract, natural

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Place the rack in the middle position. Grease a 23 x 33 cm baking dish.

Chop the chocolate and dried fruit into smaller pieces. In a large bowl, mix the oats, coconut, and almonds. Pour the mixture into the baking dish, spread it evenly, and bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes until lightly browned. Stir occasionally with a wooden spoon to ensure even baking. Remove the dish from the oven and transfer the contents back to the bowl. Add the sunflower and pumpkin seeds, chocolate pieces, dried fruit, salt, and cinnamon. Mix everything well.

Place the remaining butter, sugar, honey, and vanilla in a small pot. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Once the mixture boils, reduce the heat and cook for a few more minutes until it thickens. Pour the mixture over the ingredients in the bowl and mix well to moisten all the dry ingredients. Transfer the mixture back to the baking dish, spread it evenly, and smooth it out with wet hands.

Place the dish back in the oven and bake for 18 to 22 minutes. Remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for 2 hours to allow the mixture to set. Once cooled, cut into 12 bars.
