280 g Tomato sauce, without salt

Steps

First, wash the vegetables thoroughly. Remove the stems and seeds from the peppers and cut them into small pieces. Peel the cucumber and cut it in half lengthwise. Remove the seeds with a spoon and cut the flesh into small pieces. Peel the onion and garlic and chop them very finely. Cut the crust off the bread slices and cut the center into small pieces.

Pour the tomato sauce into a large bowl. Add the chopped cucumber, peppers, onion, garlic, olive oil, and lemon juice, and mix everything well. Gradually add water, depending on the desired thickness. Add the bread cubes and season with salt and pepper to taste. Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator for 3 hours to allow the gazpacho to chill well.

Advice
The addition of garlic can also be omitted. The soup should be appropriately thick; it should not be as thick as puree, but it should also not be too watery. Adjust the thickness with cold water and by adding bread crumbs. Some chopped vegetables (peppers and cucumbers) can be saved for decoration. Serve the chilled soup in glasses, soup bowls, or deep plates.
