Ingredients
beljakova glazura
-
200 g Powdered sugar
-
0.5 piece Egg, egg white, fresh
-
1 teaspoon Juice, lemon
dough
-
750 g Flour, Wheat, bread flour
-
3 spoons Honey
-
400 g Sugar, white
-
3 pieces Egg, fresh
-
0.5 teaspoons Spices, cloves, ground
-
0.25 teaspoons Spices, cinnamon, ground
-
1 teaspoon Lemon zest, fresh
-
0.5 teaspoons Spices, cardamom
-
1 teaspoon Baking powder
okras
- 50 g Sugar, white
Steps
-
Sift the flour into a bowl and make a well in the center. In a small cup, slightly warm the honey until it becomes liquid, then add it along with the other ingredients into the prepared well. Knead all the ingredients into a dough. Knead until the dough no longer sticks to your hands or the sides of the bowl.
-
Preheat the oven to 185 °C. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a thickness of 0.5 cm and cut out 24 differently sized stars. We will make 3 trees. Each tree consists of 8 stars, so cut out 3 stars of the same size. In the center of each star, cut a hole that should be slightly larger than the diameter of the candle. Prepare a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Place the stars on the tray and bake them in the preheated oven for 10 to 13 minutes. Bake similarly sized stars together, otherwise, the dough will not bake evenly.
-
Let the baked stars cool on a wire rack. Prepare the sugar glaze: sift the sugar into a bowl, add the egg white and lemon juice, and mix for 5 minutes to get a thick sugar mixture. Decorate the cooled stars with the sugar glaze, and finally, add small pink sugar pearls to the tips. Wait for the glaze to completely harden, then assemble the stars into the shape of trees. Place a non-drip wax candle in the center of each tree (see photo).
-
Place the trees on a decorative plate and set it on the holiday table.

Advice
If the sugar glaze is too thick, thin it with lemon juice or add a bit more egg white.
