-
1 spoon Milk, partially skimmed
for decoration
- 60 g Cooking chocolate, unsweetened
glazura
-
8 g Egg, egg white, powdered
-
250 g Powdered sugar
Steps
-
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and salt. Mix everything well. In a saucepan, add the butter, golden syrup, and sugar. Place the saucepan on the stove and heat over moderate heat, stirring until the butter and sugar melt. Stir occasionally while heating. Remove the mixture from the heat and let it cool for 5 minutes.
-
Add the sugar mixture and milk to the bowl with the dry ingredients. Mix everything well and knead into a dough. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
-
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Take the dough out of the refrigerator and roll it out to 3 mm thickness. Use a cookie cutter or knife to cut out the ghosts. Place the ghosts on the baking tray and bake them for 15 minutes until nicely baked. Remove the baked ghosts from the oven and place them on a wire rack to cool.
-
While the ghosts are cooling, prepare the glaze. Mix powdered egg white into 1 dl of warm water. Slowly add powdered sugar to the egg white mixture until you get a white glaze, which you then spread over the cooled cookies. Chop the chocolate into a saucepan and quickly heat it until melted. Remove the melted chocolate from the heat and use a toothpick to draw eyes and mouths on the ghosts. Let the cookies sit for a good 10 to 15 minutes for the glaze to set. Arrange the prepared ghosts on a serving plate and serve.
