Ingredients
-
400 g Potatoes, white
-
20 g Butter, unsalted
-
500 g Meat, beef, dried beef
-
500 g Tomato, pieces - can
-
1 piece Onion, young
-
1 piece Carrot, fresh
-
2 pinch Spices, nutmeg, ground
-
3 teaspoons Oil, olive
-
0.5 teaspoons Salt, table
-
1 cup Water
-
6 twig Basil, fresh
Steps
-
Peel, wash, and finely chop the onion. Wash, peel, and grate the carrot. Pour the tomatoes into a tall bowl and blend them well with a hand mixer. Place a pot on the stove, pour in the blended tomatoes, and cook them for 5 minutes over moderate heat. Thoroughly wash and dry the basil, saving 4 sprigs for garnish. Strip the leaves from the remaining two sprigs and finely chop them.
-
Place a new pot on the stove, heat the oil and butter, and sauté the onion until fragrant. Sauté for about two minutes, then add the grated carrot and sauté for an additional minute.
-
Mix the ingredients well, add the ground meat, and let it cook for about 5 minutes until well-browned. Stir frequently. Then add the hot tomatoes, cover, and simmer for another 15 minutes to thicken the sauce and tenderize the meat. Season the sauce with salt and pepper, add the chopped basil, and mix well.
-
Place a pot on the stove, pour in a good liter of water, and salt it. Wait for the water to boil. Then add the gnocchi and cook them for the time indicated on the package.
-
Once the gnocchi are cooked, drain them well. Serve them on plates, top with the prepared meat sauce, garnish with the reserved basil, and serve to your guests.
