Place a pan on the stove and dry roast the sesame seeds for a minute or two. Shake the pan several times during roasting to ensure the seeds are evenly toasted. Transfer the toasted seeds to a bowl and let them cool.

Place the cooled seeds and salt into a grinder and quickly grind them to keep the mixture coarse.

Transfer the mixture to a container (jar), seal it tightly, and store it in a cool, dark place, but not in the refrigerator!
