0.5 piece Bell pepper, red, fresh
-
2 piece Onion, raw
-
1 piece Carrot, fresh
-
600 g Potatoes, white
-
1 kg Meat, pork, thigh
-
1 dl Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
0.5 teaspoons Thyme, fresh
-
0.25 teaspoons Parsley, fresh
-
2 piece Spices, bay (leaves)
-
3 dl Alcohol, Beer
-
4.5 dl Water
-
0.5 teaspoons Spices, cumin, seeds
-
1 spoon Spices, paprika
-
1 teaspoon Spices, paprika
-
1 teaspoon Salt, table
-
1 spoon Vinegar, red wine
Steps
-
Remove the seeds from the bell pepper and cut it into smaller pieces. Peel the onion and carrot, and finely chop them. Peel the potatoes, wash them, and cut them into medium-sized pieces. Wash the meat, dry it with paper towels, and cut it into smaller cubes.
-
Place a pot on the stove and heat the oil. Add the meat cubes to the pot and fry them for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then add the chopped onion, bay leaves, thyme, and parsley. Mix everything well, cover the pot, and simmer the meat for about half an hour. Stir the meat several times during simmering and occasionally add a little water.
-
In a bowl, mix together 2 dl of water, beer, both types of ground paprika, and cumin. Add this mixture along with the carrot and bell pepper to the pot. Season with salt, mix well, and wait for the dish to boil again. Then cover the pot and simmer on moderate heat for an additional 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
-
Add the chopped potatoes and 2 dl of boiling water. Mix well and simmer for another half hour.
-
Taste the goulash, add more salt if needed, season with wine vinegar, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Serve the prepared dish in deep bowls.
