Ingredients
-
500 g Pasta, Macaroni
-
2 spoons Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
400 g Meat, beef, ground
-
2 pod Garlic, fresh
-
50 g Butter, unsalted
-
50 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
500 ml Milk, whole milk
-
pieces Salt, table
-
pieces Spices, pepper, black
-
pieces Spices, nutmeg, ground
-
100 g Cheese, edamame
Steps
-
Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic separately. Place a pot with a larger amount of water for cooking pasta on the stove. Just before the water boils, add salt to increase the boiling power. Add the macaroni to the boiling water and cook for the time indicated on the package. Drain the cooked macaroni.
-
While the pasta is cooking, heat oil in a large pan and sauté the chopped onion until translucent. Add the garlic and ground meat, and cook over moderate heat, stirring occasionally, until all the meat pieces are nicely browned. Lightly season the meat with salt and pepper.
-
In a larger saucepan, melt the butter. Add the flour and cook for one minute while constantly stirring. Gradually pour in the warm milk and stir to prevent lumps from forming in the sauce. Continue stirring and cooking until the sauce thickens (about 2 minutes). Season the béchamel sauce with pepper, salt, and nutmeg to taste.
-
Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius. Grease a deep baking dish with oil. Place half of the cooked macaroni in the baking dish and spread them evenly. Spread the sautéed meat over the macaroni and cover with the remaining macaroni. Pour the béchamel sauce over everything and sprinkle grated cheese on top. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until the top is nicely golden brown.
