Ingredients
-
400 g Parsnip, fresh
-
40 g Butter, unsalted
-
1.5 dl Sweet cream
-
5 spoon Cheese, Parmesan, hard
-
0.5 teaspoons Salt, table
-
12 twig Thyme, raw
Steps
-
Wash the parsnips, clean them, and peel them. Cut each one in half lengthwise. Larger parsnips can be cut into thicker slices. Place a large pot of salted water on the stove and bring it to a boil. Add the parsnips to the boiling water and cook for 5 minutes. After five minutes, drain the parsnips well.
-
Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F). Grease a heatproof baking dish well with butter and place the drained parsnips in it. Wash the parsley, shake it dry, and chop it finely. Mix the cream with grated Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle the parsley over the parsnips and pour the cream and Parmesan mixture over the top. You can also distribute a few small pieces of butter on top.
-
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes, until the cheese is well melted and golden brown. Remove the gratin parsnips from the oven and serve while still warm.
