Ingredients

3 pieces Witloof, fresh

6 slice Ham, pressed

250 ml Sweet cream

1 teaspoon Spices, mustard seeds, ground

2 pinch Spices, pepper, black

60 g Cheese, groats

1 spoon Butter, unsalted

Clean the chicory heads as needed, wash them thoroughly, and cut them in half lengthwise. Place a large pot of salted water on the stove and bring it to a boil. Add the chicory to the boiling water and cook for about 5 minutes. Meanwhile, grate the Gruyère cheese.

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Drain the chicory well and wrap each half with a slice of baked ham. Place the ham-wrapped chicory halves in a greased baking dish. In a bowl, mix together ground mustard seeds, pepper, salt, and cream. Pour the prepared mixture over the chicory and sprinkle the grated Gruyère cheese on top. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes.

Remove the gratinated chicory from the oven, serve on plates, and enjoy immediately.
