Pour cold water into a pot. Place the pot on the stove and gently place the eggs into the water using a spoon. There should be enough water to completely cover the eggs.

Wait for the water to boil, then remove the pot from the heat and let the eggs sit in the water for another 8 minutes. Drain the eggs and cool them under cold running water. Peel the eggs, slice them as desired, season with salt, and serve.

Advice
Eggs can also be hard-boiled by placing them in boiling water and cooking them for exactly eight minutes. To prevent the eggshell from cracking during cooking, warm the eggs to room temperature before boiling. To make the eggs easier to peel, its better not to use completely fresh eggs, and add salt to the water.
