Ingredients
-
1.2 l Water
-
4 pieces Potatoes, white
-
0.5 teaspoons Salt, table
-
1 piece Carniolan sausage
-
500 g Sauerkraut
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
pieces Garlic, fresh
-
pieces Spices, pepper, black
-
0.25 teaspoons Spices, cumin, seeds
-
150 g Sour cream
Steps
-
Peel, wash, and cut the potatoes into chunks.
-
Place a large pot on the stove, add the potatoes, cold water, and salt. Bring to a boil and cook over medium heat until the potatoes soften (about 15 minutes).
-
Meanwhile, slice the sausage into rings, peel and finely chop the onion and garlic separately.
-
Once the potatoes are soft, add the sliced sausage, onion, garlic, and sauerkraut to the pot, along with the liquid from the jar or bag in which the sauerkraut was stored. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and optionally add cumin seeds. Let the dish simmer gently for 10 minutes.
-
Just before serving, remove about one cup of liquid from the pot and mix it smoothly with the cream. Pour the mixture back into the pot and cook the dish for a few more minutes, stirring constantly, but be careful not to let it boil. Serve with bread.
