Ingredients
-
150 g Butter, unsalted
-
1 handful Basil, fresh
-
1 teaspoon Rosemary, fresh
-
0.5 bouquet Thyme, raw
-
1 piece Lemon, fresh, without shell
Steps
-
Place the softened butter in a bowl and knead it with a spoon until it is smooth and creamy, without any lumps.
-
Wash the fresh herbs, dry them thoroughly with a paper towel, and chop them finely. Wash the lemon and zest it.
-
Pour the lemon juice into the bowl with the butter and add the chopped herbs. Mix everything well with a spoon so that the ingredients are evenly distributed. You can also use an electric mixer to help.
-
Lay out two layers of transparent kitchen foil on the work surface. Spread the butter on the foil and shape it into a log. Wrap the foil around the log and roll it carefully to get the right and nice shape. Tightly wrap the ends of the cylindrical log and wrap everything again with aluminum foil, then store it in the refrigerator (for at least two hours). The butter must completely solidify in the refrigerator.
-
Take the solidified butter out of the refrigerator, unwrap it, and slice it into rounds to serve with homemade bread.

Advice
You can also mix spices into the butter, such as ground cumin, black pepper, cayenne or regular paprika, and allspice. For 150 g of butter, usually add a maximum of 2 tablespoons of herbs or spices. The butter can also be frozen, and it can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
