Ingredients
-
115 g Butter, unsalted
-
115 g Sugar, brown
-
50 g Powdered sugar
-
1 piece Egg, egg white, fresh
-
200 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
0.5 teaspoons Baking powder
-
1 teaspoon Spices, ginger, ground
Steps
-
In a bowl, sift the flour and mix it with baking soda and ginger. In another bowl, use an electric mixer to cream the sugar and softened butter until fluffy. Separate the egg yolk from the egg white. Discard or save the yolk for another dish, and add the egg white to the butter mixture, mixing well. Gradually incorporate the flour, baking soda, and ginger mixture into the dough until it becomes smooth and free of lumps. Shape the prepared dough into a ball, cover the bowl, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
-
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Dust the work surface with flour and roll out the dough to about 6 mm thick. Use cookie cutters to cut out star-shaped cookies and place them on a baking sheet that has been greased with baking butter or lined with parchment paper.
-
Place the baking sheet with the gingerbread stars into the preheated oven and bake the cookies for about 10 minutes. Allow the baked cookies to cool and dust them with powdered sugar before serving.
