Homemade Greek Yogurt
Although Greek yogurt was originally made from sheeps milk, today it is also popular when made from cows milk. In its production, the whey is removed through a straining process. Authentic Greek yogurt is thick, creamy, and slightly richer than regular yogurt. A good approximation can also be achieved by straining regular thick yogurt.

- 1 g Yogurt, plain, from whole milk
Steps
-
Prepare a large bowl and place a fine strainer over it. Line the strainer with a sterile cloth or cheesecloth. Then pour the yogurt into the strainer. Let the yogurt strain for about two to three hours (the excess liquid will drain into the bowl).
-
After two to three hours, mix the contents in the strainer well and let it sit for another hour to allow more liquid to drain. Repeat the process as needed until a thick, creamy yogurt remains in the strainer.
-
Then transfer the yogurt from the strainer into jars, seal them tightly, and store them in the refrigerator.
