Homemade Ham and Cottage Cheese Rolls
No one will say no to homemade rolls with a cottage cheese filling and ham!

Ingredients

600 g Flour, Wheat, bread flour

1 cube Yeast, dry

1 teaspoon Sugar, white

3 dl Milk, partially skimmed

1 teaspoon Salt, table

150 g Butter, unsalted

2 piece Egg, fresh

300 g Cheese, cottage cheese

150 g Ham, pressed

1 teaspoon Spices, oregano, dried

1 spoon Butter, unsalted

Prepare the yeast mixture in a small bowl: mix lukewarm milk, crumbled fresh yeast, sugar, and a teaspoon of flour until smooth. Let it rise in a warm place for about 10 minutes.

Then, pour half of the flour into a larger bowl, add the risen yeast mixture, butter, and one egg. Gradually add the remaining flour and salt. Knead by hand until the dough starts to separate from your fingers. Shape the kneaded dough into a loaf and let it rise in a lightly greased bowl (covered with a clean cloth) in a warm place until the dough doubles in size.

Knead the risen dough well and divide it into two loaves. Roll out both loaves on a lightly floured surface and cut into approximately 16 triangles. In a separate bowl, mix the cottage cheese with oregano and stir well.

Cut the ham slices into short strips. Place a few strips of ham and 2 teaspoons of the cottage cheese filling in the center of the wider end of each triangle. Then roll the triangles to form the rolls.

Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius. Prepare a baking dish by greasing it with butter and arrange the prepared rolls on it. In a separate bowl, beat an egg with a fork and brush it over the rolls. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.

The rolls are done when they turn golden brown. Let the baked rolls cool slightly, then arrange them on a platter and serve to your guests.
