Ingredients
-
125 g Butter, unsalted
-
150 g Cooking chocolate, unsweetened
-
3 pieces Egg, fresh
-
225 g Sugar, white
-
1 teaspoon Vanilla, extract, imitation
-
250 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
30 g Cocoa, powdered, unsweetened
-
0.5 teaspoons Baking powder
-
18 pieces Sugar, white
Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Line a shallow baking tray with parchment paper. Chop the butter and chocolate into a heatproof bowl. Place a pot of water on the stove and wait for it to boil. Place the bowl with the butter and chocolate on top of the pot with boiling water and melt the chocolate and butter while stirring (see tips). Be careful that the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water in the pot!
-
In another bowl, whisk the eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract with an electric mixer. Mix the egg mixture into the cooled chocolate and butter mixture. In a third bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder. Sift the dry ingredients into the bowl with the egg-chocolate mixture and mix everything well.
-
Scoop the batter with a spoon and place dollops of batter onto the baking tray. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake the cookies for about 8 to 10 minutes.
-
Let the baked cookies cool, then flip half of the cookies so that the bottom of the cookie faces upwards. Place a marshmallow on each flipped cookie, then cover it with another cookie. Place the tray back in the oven for 3 minutes (just long enough for the marshmallows to soften).
-
Let the prepared cookies cool, then serve them on a plate and enjoy.

Advice
A water bath is used for melting and dissolving delicate foods and ingredients or for frothy mixing (especially for preparing various sauces and creams). Place a heatproof bowl with the ingredients on top of another bowl with hot water and whisk the ingredients in the upper bowl until they thicken and froth. The water in the lower bowl should not boil vigorously! You can sprinkle the Oreo cookies with sugar or cocoa powder before serving. Marshmallow fluff can be bought or made at home.
