Italian Pizza Dough

To allow you to enjoy genuine Italian flavors, we offer a true Italian recipe for perfect dough - one that will be just the right amount of crispy and soft.

Ingredients

400 ml Water

15 g Yeast, dry

650 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose

25 g Salt, table

In lukewarm water, smoothly mix the crumbled yeast.

Pour the flour into a bowl and make a well in the center. Sprinkle salt around the flour near the well, pour the yeast and water mixture into the well. Mix the ingredients with your fingers or a spoon until they come together to form a rough dough.

Turn the rough dough onto a lightly floured work surface and knead it well. Knead for 10 to 15 minutes or until it becomes completely smooth, soft, and elastic, and no longer sticks to your hands or the work surface.

Lightly flour the bowl (you can also oil it). Shape the kneaded dough into a ball, place it in the bowl, and cover it with a clean cloth (plastic wrap). Let the dough rise in a warm place for 45 to 60 minutes.

Remove the risen dough from the bowl with floured hands and divide it into 250-gram pieces, shaping them into balls. Place the balls on a floured work surface, cover with a cloth, and let them rise for 45 to 60 minutes.

When you are ready to make the pizza, lightly oil a round baking pan (or several pans). Take a risen dough ball, flour it, and stretch it out with your hands. Use your fingers or palms to help, but it's important to stretch the dough from the center outward, as this will give it the characteristic thick edge. Once the dough is nicely stretched, place it in the oiled pan, spread with sauce, top with your desired toppings, and bake.
