Italian Tiramisu
Tiramisu is a world-renowned Italian dessert made of layers of biscuits and a creamy mixture prepared from mascarpone cheese and beaten eggs. The name of this popular dessert literally translates to "pick me up." If you prepare tiramisu according to the original recipe, it will truly wake you up and "lift you up." This is achieved by the strong black coffee in which the biscuits are soaked and the cocoa powder used to dust the dessert.

Ingredients
-
6 pieces Egg, fresh
-
200 g Sugar, white
-
500 ml Sweet cream
-
240 ml Coffee, espresso
-
250 g Breadcrumbs, dried
-
450 g Cheese, creamy
-
pieces Cocoa, powdered, unsweetened
Steps
-
Carefully separate the egg whites and yolks into two bowls. Add half of the sugar to the bowl with the yolks and mix them into a frothy consistency using an electric mixer. Beat the egg whites on medium speed, and when they form soft peaks, gradually add the remaining half of the sugar, one spoonful at a time, while continuously mixing. Once you achieve a firm and glossy meringue, stop mixing.
-
Place the mascarpone in a bowl and mix it well. Whip the sweet cream until stiff peaks form. First, mix the mascarpone into the bowl with the beaten yolks, then add the whipped cream, and finally, gently fold in the egg white meringue. Mix with a spatula, gently and slowly, to prevent the cream from deflating.
-
Pour the coffee into a shallow, flat-bottomed bowl. Dip the biscuits into the coffee on both sides and layer them in a rectangular glass dish. Once the bottom of the dish is fully covered with biscuits, spread half of the cream mixture over them, smoothing it out evenly. Add another layer of coffee-soaked biscuits on top of the cream. Spread the remaining cream over the biscuits. Dust the cream with cocoa powder. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving to allow the tiramisu to cool properly.
-
Once chilled, cut the tiramisu into neat squares (or rectangles), remove them from the dish using a spatula, and serve on plates. Decorate the dessert as desired and serve.
