16 pieces Nuts, almonds
-
32 pieces Raisins
Dough
-
1 kg Flour, Wheat, bread flour
-
5 dl Milk, whole milk
-
40 g Sugar, white
-
125 g Butter, unsalted
-
5 g Salt, table
Premaz
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
2 spoons Sugar, white
-
2 spoons Milk, whole milk
Yeast
-
20 g Yeast, dry
-
3 spoons Milk, whole milk
-
0.25 teaspoons Sugar, white
-
1 teaspoon Flour, Wheat, bread flour
Steps
-
Prepare the yeast mixture with the listed ingredients: mix milk, crumbled yeast, sugar, and flour in a small bowl. Let it stand for at least 10 minutes so the yeast mixture rises slightly.
-
Sift the flour into a bowl. Add sugar, mix, and salt around the edges. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture.
-
Place a pot with milk and butter on the stove. Heat and stir until the butter melts. Remove from heat and let it cool to lukewarm. Pour the lukewarm milk with butter into the flour and knead the dough. Knead until the dough becomes smooth and no longer sticks to your hands or the bowl.
-
Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly oiled bowl. Cover it with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise for 1 hour.
-
Turn the risen dough onto a lightly floured work surface and knead it. Divide it into 16 parts and shape them into small rolls. Beat the egg with 2 tablespoons of milk and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Sort the raisins, wash, and dry them. Cut the almonds into 4 pieces.
-
Grease two shallow baking pans. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Shape the cookies. Place a roll of dough on the work surface and flatten it slightly. Pinch the roll with your fingers at 1/4 of its length to shape the head. Use a sharp, thin knife to cut the top of the head to make horns, split the lower part of the body to make legs, and make cuts on the left and right sides of the body to form arms. Insert almond pieces into the ends of the arms and legs. Use scissors to cut a mouth into the head. Insert 2 raisins into the head for eyes. Repeat the process until all 16 cookies are made. Brush the cookies with the egg mixture using a brush. Bake them in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
-
Remove the baked cookies from the oven and let them cool slightly. Cut tongues from red ribbon or paper and insert them into the mouths of the cookies using the tip of scissors. Arrange the cookies on a serving plate and serve.

It is important that the cookie is approximately the same thickness in all parts, otherwise the thinner parts may burn.
