Kvrgusa
Kvrgusa is a popular Bosnian dish that will surely delight you. The preparation is very simple, and the dish has an excellent taste. Since you dont need any special ingredients, just chicken, flour, eggs, and cream, it is also a great idea for a cheap meal that will feed many hungry mouths. And even though the original recipe uses chicken pieces, you can also use diced chicken meat.

Ingredients

4 spoon Oil, vegetable oil, canola

600 g Meat, chicken, thighs

200 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose

2 piece Egg, fresh

3.5 dl Milk, whole milk

250 ml Sour cream

Steps

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Grease a deep baking dish well with oil and place it in the preheated oven so that the oil heats up well while preparing the other ingredients.

Wash the chicken under running water and thoroughly dry it with paper towels. Cut it into smaller pieces and place them in a bowl. Season the chicken pieces with pepper, salt, and a little oil. Mix well so that all the pieces are evenly seasoned, then quickly fry them in a heated pan.

Then prepare the batter. In a large bowl, add the flour. Add the eggs and salt, pour in the milk, and mix the ingredients well with a hand whisk to get a thick, smooth batter without lumps. The batter should be slightly thicker than pancake batter.

Take the hot baking dish out of the oven and carefully pour in 2/3 of the batter. Spread the fried chicken pieces over the batter and cover them with the remaining batter. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake the dish for 20 to 25 minutes or until the batter rises nicely and turns golden brown on top.

When the dish is baked, take the baking dish out of the oven. Pour or spread sour cream over the kvrgusa, cut it into pieces of any size, and serve with a bowl of seasonal salad.

Advice
The chicken pieces can also be seasoned with ground paprika (sweet, hot) and/or vegeta. Instead of diced meat, you can also use individual chicken pieces (wings, thighs, drumsticks). After spreading the kvrgusa with sour cream, you can place it in the preheated oven for another 5 to 10 minutes.
