Ingredients
-
450 g Cheese, cottage cheese
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
1 teaspoon Salt, table
-
225 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
45 g Butter, unsalted
-
4 twig Dill, fresh
Steps
-
In a bowl, mix together the cottage cheese, a teaspoon of salt, and the egg. Gradually add the flour while continuously mixing.
-
Once all the flour is added, transfer the mixture onto a floured work surface. Knead the dough by hand until it becomes elastic, soft, and not sticky. Divide it into 4 parts, roll them into 2 cm thick logs, and then cut them into 1.5 cm long gnocchi using the back of a knife.
-
Place a large pot of water on the stove. Just before the water boils, add 1 tablespoon of salt. Once the water is boiling, add the gnocchi and cook them over moderate heat for about 8 minutes or until they float to the surface.
-
Place a small saucepan on the stove and melt the butter in it. Using a slotted spoon, remove the cooked gnocchi from the water and transfer them to a serving dish. Pour the melted butter over them. Wash the dill, shake off the excess water, and finely chop it. Sprinkle the dill over the gnocchi and serve the dish.
