Ingredients
-
3 spoons Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
2 piece Carrot, fresh
-
1 piece Green, raw
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
80 g Meat, pork, smoked bacon
-
2 pod Garlic, fresh
-
200 g Lentils, raw
-
1 piece Spices, bay (leaves)
-
800 ml Soup base, beef, cube
-
3 pieces Carniolan sausage
-
0.5 teaspoons Salt, table
-
2 pinch Spices, pepper, black
Steps
-
Sort the lentils, place them in a colander, rinse thoroughly under running water, and drain well. Peel and wash the carrots and celery, then cut them into small cubes. Cut the bacon into pieces. Peel the onion and garlic, then finely chop them separately.
-
Heat two tablespoons of oil in a large pot, and sauté the carrots, onion, celery, and bacon over moderate heat for 5 minutes. Stir the ingredients occasionally while sautéing. Then add the garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute).
-
Add the lentils and bay leaf to the pot. Mix well, pour in the broth, and bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat, partially cover the pot, and simmer gently for 40 minutes or until the lentils are completely soft. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add more liquid (broth or water) if needed.
-
Cut the sausage into slices and fry them in a pan with one tablespoon of oil. Mix the fried sausage slices into the prepared one-pot dish. Taste and adjust seasoning with pepper or salt if necessary. Serve in deep bowls or soup plates with bread.

Advice
Be careful when adding salt, as sausages and broth already contain salt. You can also add potatoes (cut into small cubes or grated) to the one-pot dish.
