In a pot, sauté the chopped onion. Add chopped garlic, cumin, paprika, and turmeric. When it becomes fragrant, add the lentils, stir, and pour in the broth or water. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook over moderate heat for 30 minutes.

When the lentils soften, taste the soup and adjust the seasoning with salt or pepper if needed. Blend the ingredients to achieve a thick texture. Serve the prepared soup in bowls and garnish with lemon.
