Ingredients
-
2 spoons Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
2 spoons Tomato, concentrate
-
2 piece Carrot, fresh
-
2 pod Garlic, fresh
-
450 g Lentils, raw
-
100 ml Alcohol, Wine, White
-
900 ml Water
-
1 piece Spices, bay (leaves)
-
1 teaspoon Spices, thyme, dried
-
1.25 teaspoons Salt, table
-
450 g Carniolan sausage
-
pieces Parsley, fresh
-
pieces Spices, pepper, black
Steps
-
Peel the onion and garlic, and finely chop them separately. Clean the carrot, wash it, and grate it finely.
-
Place a deeper pan on the stove and heat the oil over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté it for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it becomes translucent.
-
Add the tomato paste, carrot, and garlic, and sauté the ingredients for another 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Then mix in the lentils and pour in the wine. Wait for the alcohol in the wine to evaporate, then add water, bay leaf, thyme, and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium, partially cover the pan, and cook the lentils until they are almost completely soft (about 20 minutes).
-
Slice the sausage into rounds and roughly chop the parsley. Add these ingredients to the pan after 20 minutes of cooking. Let the dish cook for another 10 minutes, or until the lentils are completely soft. If necessary, add a little more water.
-
Once the dish is ready, season it to taste with freshly ground pepper. Serve it on plates and accompany it with sliced bread.
