Ingredients
-
250 g Flour, Whole wheat
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
10 g Yeast, dry
-
710 g Sugar, white
-
1 piece Lemon, fresh, without shell
-
800 ml Water
-
pieces Oil, plant, sunflower
Steps
-
Thoroughly wash the lemon and slice it into rings. Place a pot on the stove and heat 500 ml of water. Add 700 g of sugar, the lemon rings, and wait until it boils. Then remove the pot from the heat, cover it with a lid, and let the syrup cool.
-
In a separate bowl, sift the flour. Add the egg, crumbled yeast, and 10 g of sugar. Mix the ingredients well with a whisk and gradually add 300 ml of lukewarm water, stirring until you get a smooth batter without lumps. Let the batter rest for about 15 minutes.
-
Place a pot on the stove and pour in oil, heating it well. Use a spoon to shape the batter into balls and place them in the hot oil. Fry them until they turn golden brown.
-
Use a slotted spoon to remove the balls from the hot oil and drain them well on a paper kitchen towel. Finally, dip the lokma in the syrup and serve them cold on a plate.

Advice
Fry in a large amount of fat. The food must float in it. For frying, use fats that do not contain water, such as coconut fat or good oil. The frying fat is hot enough if small bubbles form around a wooden spoon handle.
