Ingredients
Meatballs
-
500 g Meat, beef, ground
-
2 spoons Breadcrumbs, dried
-
0.5 piece Onion, raw
-
1 pod Garlic, fresh
-
0.5 teaspoons Salt, table
-
0.25 teaspoons Spices, pepper, black
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
pieces Milk, whole milk
-
pieces Oil, olive
-
2 spoons Mustard
-
400 ml Soup base, beef, cube
-
200 ml Sweet cream
-
pieces Salt, table
Steps
-
In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients for the meatballs until well combined. It's best to knead everything with clean hands or mix thoroughly with a spoon or spatula.
-
Shape the prepared mixture into walnut-sized balls and place them on a large plate or platter. Once the meatballs are formed, refrigerate them for 5 to 10 minutes.
-
Place a larger pan on the stove and heat about two tablespoons of oil. In the heated oil, fry the prepared meatballs in two batches. While frying, carefully turn them to ensure they brown evenly on all sides. Remove the fried meatballs from the pan and place them on a plate.
-
In the same pan used for frying the meatballs, add the mustard. Quickly sauté it, then pour in the broth. Use a spoon to scrape the bottom of the pan well, loosening all the caramelized bits that formed during frying.
-
Add the meatballs along with any juices that have collected on the plate to the sauce and let them simmer for about 10 minutes. Thicken the sauce with cream. Season with salt and ground pepper to taste. Simmer everything on medium heat for an additional 5-10 minutes.
-
Serve the prepared meatballs on plates and accompany them with your choice of side dish. Mashed potatoes, rice, or gnocchi pair excellently with this dish.
