Ingredients
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
2 pod Garlic, fresh
-
500 g Meat, beef, ground
-
2 slices Bread, wheat
-
pieces Milk, whole milk
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
pieces Salt, table
-
pieces Flour, Wheat, bread flour
-
pieces Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
1 spoon Butter, unsalted
-
1 teaspoon Mustard
-
4 dl Soup base, chicken, cube
-
1 dl Sweet cream
Steps
-
Add the toast slices to a bowl and pour milk over them.
-
Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. Add them to the ground meat, along with the egg, the milk-soaked toast slices (squeeze out the excess milk), salt, and pepper. Mix the ingredients well with your hands to form a uniform mixture, then shape into small walnut-sized balls (use a spoon to help). Roll the balls in flour.
-
Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the meatballs until golden brown on all sides. Push the cooked meatballs to the side of the pan, add a tablespoon of butter and a teaspoon of flour to the center, and sauté the flour in the melted butter until it turns golden.
-
Add mustard and pour in the broth. Stir well to prevent lumps from forming in the sauce. Let the dish simmer on low heat for 20-25 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken. Shake the pan occasionally during cooking (do not stir).
-
Stir in the sweet cream and let it simmer for a bit longer. Serve the prepared dish with spaghetti, rice, or potatoes, or enjoy the meatballs in sauce with a slice of homemade bread.
