500 g Tomato, pieces - can
-
2 pinch Spices, ginger, ground

3 dl Soup base, beef, cube

Steps
-
Peel the onion and garlic, then finely chop them separately. Rinse the parsley under running water, shake it dry, and chop it finely.
-
Heat oil in a pan and sauté half of the chopped onion until golden. Add the rice and quickly fry it until it becomes translucent. Add the chopped garlic and continue frying for another minute while stirring constantly, then remove from heat.
-
Place the ground meat in a large bowl. Add the sautéed ingredients, a beaten egg, chopped parsley, marjoram, salt, and pepper. Mix well and shape the mixture into balls using wet hands.
-
Heat olive oil in a wider pot, add the remaining onion, and sauté until golden. Pour in the tomatoes and add the bay leaf. Bring the sauce to a boil and cook for five minutes. Add clear beef broth, season the sauce with salt and pepper, and bring to a boil again. Meanwhile, quickly brown the meatballs on all sides in oil.
-
Place the meatballs into the sauce and gently stir with a ladle to submerge them. Cover and simmer on moderate heat for 30 minutes to thicken the sauce. Serve with mashed potatoes, boiled pasta, or bread.
