Ingredients
-
600 g Meat, pork, ground
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
2 pod Garlic, fresh
-
4 twig Parsley, fresh
-
0.75 teaspoons Salt, table
-
0.25 teaspoons Spices, oregano, dried
-
2 pinch Spices, pepper, black
-
2 slices Bread, wheat
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
150 g Cheese, mozzarella
-
3 spoons Oil, vegetable oil, canola
Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius. Remove the crust from the bread slices. Cut or tear the soft center into small pieces. Finely chop the parsley. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. Heat one tablespoon of oil in a pan and sauté the onion, stirring until it softens.
-
Place the ground meat in a large bowl. Add the chopped garlic, sautéed onion, parsley, oregano, salt, pepper, egg, and bread. Mix the ingredients well with clean hands.
-
Cut the mozzarella into smaller cubes. Wrap each cheese cube with the meat mixture and shape into a ball using your hands.
-
Heat two tablespoons of oil in a larger pan. Add a few meatballs to the hot pan and cook without moving them for 2 minutes over medium heat. Then, carefully turn them with a spatula or tongs and cook for another 6 minutes until they are browned on all sides. Remove the cooked meatballs from the pan and keep them warm on a plate. Repeat the process with the remaining meatballs.
-
Once all the meatballs are cooked in the pan, place them in a greased baking dish and finish baking in the oven. Bake for an additional 12 to 15 minutes, or until the meat is no longer pink and the cheese inside is melted.
-
Serve the baked meatballs on plates with your chosen side dish.
