Meatloaf with Tomato Sauce

900 g Meat, veal, ground

160 g Breadcrumbs, dried

1 piece Egg, fresh

80 g Carrot, fresh

2 dl Tomato sauce, without salt

2 pod Garlic, fresh

1 piece Onion, raw

1 teaspoon Salt, table

0.5 bouquet Parsley, fresh

0.5 teaspoons Spices, chili powder

0.5 teaspoons Spices, pepper, black
Steps

Preheat the oven to 190°C. Peel, wash, and chop the garlic and onion. Wash, peel, and finely grate the carrot. Wash, shake dry, and chop the parsley. Grease a deep baking dish with sides at least 20 cm long.

In a bowl, mix the ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, carrot, 1 dl of tomato sauce, garlic, and onion. Season with salt, parsley, chili, and pepper. Mix well. Place the mixture in the baking dish and shape it into a loaf. Brush the loaf with the remaining tomato sauce.

Loosely cover the loaf with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes. Take the baking dish out of the oven and let the loaf rest for 10 minutes.

Slice the meatloaf, portion it onto plates, and serve with roasted potatoes and salad.
