Ingredients
-
115 g Powdered sugar
-
115 g Sugar, white
-
5 pieces Egg, egg white, fresh
-
1 pinch Salt, table
Steps
-
Prepare a large bowl, place the egg whites and a pinch of salt in it. Mix the two ingredients with a hand mixer until stiff peaks form. Gradually add granulated sugar by the spoonful while mixing. The meringue is just right when you can form soft peaks that slowly droop.
-
Once all the sugar is used, stop mixing. Sift a third of the powdered sugar over the egg whites and gently fold it into the meringue using a whisk. Repeat the process until all the powdered sugar is used.
-
Preheat the oven to 110°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Fill a piping bag with the meringue. Pipe the meringue onto the parchment paper in the shape of bones. To do this, first pipe a long line for the shaft, then add two circles at both ends.
-
Place the baking sheet with the piped bones into the preheated oven and bake for about an hour. Turn off the oven and leave the baked meringue bones in the oven with the door slightly ajar until they cool down.
-
Once cooled, remove the meringue bones from the oven, arrange them on a serving platter, and offer them to your guests.

Advice
The meringue will whip up more beautifully and quickly if you add a few drops of cold water or a pinch of salt to the egg whites. The size of the bones you prepare will depend on the number of people.
