Meringue Roses
With sweet meringue roses, you can decorate a festive table or offer them as a snack at a wedding celebration. You can also prepare them when you have leftover egg whites from holiday baking. These cookies are not only visually stunning but also delicious. Crumbled into small pieces, they make an excellent addition to ice cream, custard, and chocolate mousse.

Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 100 degrees Celsius. Line a low baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Using an electric mixer, beat the egg whites and salt until frothy. Continue mixing and slowly add the sugar (spoon by spoon). Once all the sugar is added, mix for another 2 to 3 minutes until a firm and glossy meringue forms, then mix in the vanilla extract.
-
Drip red food coloring onto the meringue. Gently fold it in with a rubber spatula or spoon to create a beautifully marbled egg white mixture.
-
Fill a piping bag with the prepared mixture and attach a star-shaped tip with an opening of about 0.5 cm. Slowly pipe roses (5 cm in diameter) onto the parchment paper - pipe them from the center outward. Leave a few centimeters of space between each rose, as they will spread slightly during baking. Bake in the preheated oven for 90 minutes, then turn off the oven and leave the roses in the oven for another 2 to 3 hours (or even overnight).
-
Serve the prepared meringue roses on a beautiful plate or platter.
